I started this in February but left it unfinished. Better late than never.
Jan – Mar
After a month of traveling, I returned to NYC refreshed. January was mostly work and catch-ups. Abraço in East Village became a regular stop.
Imprint opened its office in the Financial District, so I got to return to the office after 6 months of remote work. In-person is hard to beat.
I frequented Barn West (a.k.a. Cooper and Frederick’s San Francisco apartment). Elliot’s and my morning bike rides culminated in what’s become an annual west coast bike trip. We joined Nate, Riley, and Cooper covering over 500 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles. Nate’s write-up captures it better than I will. You can find the full route on Strava. (Feel free to add me!)
Apr – Jun
A day or two after that trip, I flew to Seattle for Imprint’s engineering offsite. We had a strong Seattle contingency at the time, so it was good to catch up — also making some time to see some old friends from Microsoft. My teammates and I built an AI compliance bot with a Slack integration for the “Imprintathon” and took home the grand prize.
The next few months had less cross-coast travel: a lovely wedding in Virginia, a few birthdays in NY, and Charlottesville for graduation. June saw weekly soccer with Jared and Central Park bike rides.

Jul – Sep
In July, Imprint completed its first credit card conversion, migrating thousands of Citi cardholders to Imprint. A major step, and likely the first of many.
Ashley and I visited Zion, which earned a spot among my favorite national parks.
I joined my Contrary friends in September for our annual retreat. I also walked the perimeter of Manhattan with a small group. Cold and wet, we finished around 10pm and missed our dinner reservation.

Oct – Dec
October through December was quiet – I was pretty heads-down. Most of my camera roll is screenshots of code, Twitter, and Zoom. I spent a lot of time playing with threejs and made some quick trips to SF and DC.
The year ended in Switzerland, exploring Zurich, Bern, Grindelwald, Interlaken, and Geneva. A beautiful way to welcome the new year.

It feels odd to write my reflections with six months’ hindsight and only a vague memory of what I was thinking at the end of last year. What stands out now: I traveled more, to see old friends and try new things. Those experiences – and the people I shared them with – made last year memorable. I also made an effort to read and build more little projects. Those don’t always make the highlight reel, but deserve a shout-out.
2024 felt almost comfortable. It’s surprisingly easy for comfort to blur into inertia. Six months in, I’d still like 2025 to bring a little more friction. There’s wisdom in entropy.
